A martial arts school can announce belt-test day with one Avatar 1.0 clip made of two spoken scenes and a silent beat between them, and a 24-second clip costs $5.88 at the default plus tier. The beat lets the viewer read an on-screen card before the second sentence starts.

Belt tests concern parents more than students: when, where, what to bring, and how long. A short clip from the school's own presenter answers those once, and the same clip goes to the parent list, the website and the class group chat. It is not a substitute for the instructor's judgment on who is ready.

Multi-scene input

The Avatar video docs describe video_inputs, an ordered list of scenes. A spoken scene uses voice type text with a script, and a silent scene uses voice type silence with a required duration and no script. You send either a script or video_inputs, never both. The planned total must be 4 to 60 seconds. The current execution supports one avatar per final video and one shared scene background.

A scene can be a prompt or a photo. Use a photo of your own empty training hall so the background is the real room. Do not use photos with students in them, and especially not children, in a promotional video without the written permission of their guardians.

  • Scene one, spoken: date, time and place of the test.
  • Scene two, silence for 4 seconds: a card on screen with what to bring.
  • Scene three, spoken: arrival time and who to contact.

Cost by tier

Avatar 1.0 is billed per second. Without a product image the rates are $0.184 standard, $0.245 plus and $0.55 max (read 2026-10-10). A 24-second clip, counting the silent beat, is $4.42, $5.88 or $13.20. Creating the presenter is a one-time $0.95. The estimated duration is what matters, so shorten the scripts if the total is near a tier decision.

Language and captions

Avatar 1.0 is English-only. If part of your parent list reads another language, send those families a text version in their language alongside the clip. Add readable captions with the inline captions option or the standalone video captions job at $0.20, since many parents will watch in a lobby.

A sample three-scene plan

Scene one is about 10 seconds: "Belt test day is Saturday, December 12, at ten in the morning, in the main hall." The silent beat is 4 seconds, and you place a card over it in your own editor or reveal a caption: what to bring. Scene three is about 10 seconds: "Please arrive twenty minutes early and speak with your instructor if you have questions."

Totals matter, so count words. At a normal pace, 10 seconds is about 25 spoken words. If the estimated duration lands at 26 seconds instead of 24, the plus-tier cost moves from $5.88 to $6.37, so read the script aloud with a timer before you queue the render. Keep the clip a notice and not a pep talk; the instructor can say the pep talk in person.

What the clip should not say

Do not promise promotion. Do not mention individual students. Do not give safety or injury guidance; say where the instructor can be reached. Check the details against your calendar before you render, because a corrected clip is another full charge. A parent-facing clip example appears in the daycare tour clips post.
