Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5 for product ads: what runs on Sume
A spec table for Kling 4.0 early access (Kling page) and Seedance 2.5 on Sume: length, resolution, ratios, references. Only one of them is callable today.

For a product ad you can ship this week, Seedance 2.5 is the one you can call on Sume. Kling 4.0 is in early access with a full launch due in October 2026, and Sume lists no Kling 4.0 id. The table below puts Kling's stated specs beside the Seedance 2.5 row in the Sume catalog so you can decide what to brief now and what to hold for later.
Kling facts are from Kling's Kling 4.0 page, read on 2026-10-02. Sume facts are from the Video Router docs and the catalog code. This is a spec comparison, not a quality ranking; neither source ranks the two.
How do the two compare on specs?
Kling's early-access numbers describe a model you cannot yet request through Sume, so the right column is the only one you can test.
| Item | Kling 4.0, early access | Seedance 2.5 on Sume (`seedance-2.5`) |
|---|---|---|
| Callable through Sume | No Kling 4.0 id listed | Yes |
| Clip length | 3 to 30 seconds native | 4 to 30 seconds |
| Resolution | 4K; HDR at 1080p and 4K coming soon | 480p, 720p, 1080p |
| Aspect ratios | Standard and 21:9 | Includes 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9 |
| References | Omni Reference up to 15 assets | Reference images, videos and audio accepted; caps per the catalog |
| Audio | Stereo audio, improved lip-sync | Audio supported in the catalog row |
| Billing | Not listed on the page read | Per 1,000 video tokens, list times 1.25 |
Which one fits a product ad?
Match the brief to the limits, not to a name:
- Vertical social ad, up to 30 seconds, 1080p: Seedance 2.5 covers it today.
- Ultra-wide 21:9 banner clip: both list 21:9, but only Seedance 2.5 is callable on Sume.
- 4K deliverable: Seedance 2.5 tops out at 1080p on Sume, so 4K needs another model such as Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, or a wait for Kling 4.0.
- A brief that leans on 15 mixed reference assets: Kling describes that for 4.0; on Sume read the Seedance 2.5 caps from
GET /v1/video-router/modelsbefore you plan the shot list.
How do you submit the Seedance 2.5 version?
Send a POST /v1/videos request with model: "seedance-2.5", a duration of 4 to 30, a resolution, and an aspect_ratio, plus an Idempotency-Key. The job returns a polling URL; completed jobs expose the clip under unsigned_urls. If a Kling 4.0 row appears later, the same request with the new id is the test.
What would change your pick later?
Three things: a Kling 4.0 row on Sume, its price row, and your own side-by-side clips on your own product shots. Specs say what a model accepts; only your clips say whether the output suits your ad.
