Is Wan 2.7 open source? The official Wan-AI org lists Wan 2.2
Wan-AI's Hugging Face page lists Wan 2.2 weights and no 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 or 3.0 weights. Here is how to check, and which hosted route Sume lists for Wan.

On the official Wan-AI Hugging Face organization page I read on 2026-10-02, the newest listed weights are all in the Wan 2.2 family; no Wan 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 or 3.0 weights appear. The Wan2.2 repository states an Apache 2.0 license, so Wan 2.2 is the version you can download and run today. Newer Wan numbers are, as far as the official pages show, reached through hosted services.
What does the Wan-AI organization actually list?
The page showed the ten most recently updated of 27 models. Those ten are Wan2.2-Animate-2-14B and its Diffusers and Distilled variants, Wan-Dancer-14B, Wan2.2-Animate-14B (and Diffusers), Wan2.2-S2V-14B, and the Diffusers builds of T2V-A14B, TI2V-5B and I2V-A14B. I could not see the other 17 on that view, so the claim here is narrow: nothing in the visible listing is a version above 2.2.
Third-party sites advertise "Wan 2.7 download" pages. They are not the official organization, and nothing on the official listing I read backs them up. If you need weights, take them from the Wan-AI organization or the Wan-Video GitHub repository and nowhere else.
| Model family | Version on the page |
|---|---|
| Animate-2-14B (plain, Diffusers, Distilled) | Wan 2.2 |
| Wan-Dancer-14B | Wan-Dancer |
| Animate-14B (plain, Diffusers) | Wan 2.2 |
| S2V-14B | Wan 2.2 |
| T2V-A14B, I2V-A14B, TI2V-5B (Diffusers) | Wan 2.2 |
What can I run from the Wan 2.2 release?
The Wan2.2 README lists five tasks: text-to-video (T2V-A14B), image-to-video (I2V-A14B), text-and-image-to-video (TI2V-5B), speech-to-video (S2V-14B) and character animation (Animate-14B). The A14B models target 480P and 720P and the README lists an 80GB single-GPU requirement; TI2V-5B targets 720P at 24fps and lists a 24GB card such as an RTX 4090.
Dated notes in the README put the code and weights release on July 28, 2025, S2V-14B on August 26, 2025 and Animate-14B on September 19, 2025.
Which hosted Wan does Sume list?
Sume's docs list wan-3.0 in the Video Router catalog, accepting 2 to 30 seconds with 480p, 720p and 1080p, and honoring audio and video references. It is a hosted route to the newer Wan generation, so it is not the Wan 2.2 checkpoint you could download, and results from one will not match the other frame for frame.
Billing is the provider list rate times 1.25. See the Video Router docs for the catalog and the Wan 3.0 per-second pricing post for the dollar figures.
How do I decide between Wan 2.2 weights and the hosted id?
Choose the weights if you need to modify the model, train a LoRA, keep footage on your own hardware, or run thousands of short drafts on a GPU you already own. Choose the hosted id if you want clips longer than the 5 seconds a 121-frame Wan 2.2 run gives, want 1080p, or do not want to operate GPUs.
Before you commit, run one prompt on each. A short 480p draft on the hosted id is cheap, and the open-weights vs hosted checklist gives four checks to run first.
How can I verify a Wan weights claim myself?
Open the Wan-AI organization page, sort by recently updated, and read the model names; a real release has a repository with a model card, a license and a commit history. Then open the Wan2.2 GitHub README for the news list. If a site names a version that neither page mentions, treat it as unverified.
