Ideogram 4.5 in Runway MCP vs Sume's hosted MCP
Runway's MCP now supports Ideogram 4.5 on paid plans. Sume's hosted MCP exposes generate_image and generate_video, and Ideogram 4.5 is in Sume's image catalog.

Runway's changelog for Oct 2, 2026 says Ideogram 4.5 is now supported in the Runway MCP for image generation on paid plans. Sume's hosted MCP at https://mcp.sume.com/mcp exposes generate_image and generate_video, and Ideogram 4.5 is in Sume's image catalog as ideogram/ideogram-v4.5.
The two side by side
| Runway MCP | Sume hosted MCP | |
|---|---|---|
| Ideogram 4.5 | Supported for image generation, paid plans | In the image catalog as ideogram/ideogram-v4.5 |
| Image tool | Per Runway | generate_image |
| Video tool | Per Runway | generate_video |
| Auth | Per Runway | OAuth or API key |
Ideogram 4.5 on Sume
Without input_references it generates from text. With them it edits the first image and uses up to four more as references, five in total. Use quality of low, medium (default) or high and resolution of 1K or 2K. The docs give Fal list prices of $0.03, $0.06 and $0.22 per image by quality; they note Sume pricing applies on top, so read the endpoint record for the amount you pay.
What the Sume MCP can do
Paid tools include generate_image, generate_video, music_create, tts_create, stt_create, image_upscale_create, rmbg_create and video_upscale_create. Omit payload.model to route to sume/auto, or pass a catalog id from image-models_list. Paid and write calls need an idempotency_key.
Limits to know
Sume Image 1.0 and Video 1.0 (images_create and videos_create) are REST-only and not on hosted MCP. With OAuth the session is read-only unless the user turns Write on at consent. An API key sees the full tool set.
Try it
Ask your MCP client for an image with the model ideogram/ideogram-v4.5, quality: low, and run a dry_run first to preview cost.
