How many Zapier tasks does one Sume video job use?

Two. One action submits the Sume job and one stores the result URL. Triggers and Filter steps are free, so Pro's 750 tasks cover 375 jobs a month.

Answer

Two tasks per job in the usual two-Zap design. Zap one: a trigger (free) then a Webhooks action that submits the Sume job, 1 task. Zap two: a catch hook trigger for job.completed (free), a Filter (free), and an action that writes the media.sume.com URL, 1 task. Zapier's pricing page says triggers, polling and built-ins like Formatter, Paths and Filter do not use tasks, and failed actions are not billed.

Task budget by plan

Free cannot receive webhooks, so the second Zap in this design needs Pro. Tier prices: Pro annual starts at $19.99, Team annual at $69.

What adds tasks

A successful webhook event retries up to 10 times if your Zap is off, but the retry is not a new task until it runs an action.

  • A loop that fires one action per item: each item is a task.
  • A retry written as a new submit, instead of a repeat with the same Idempotency-Key.
  • A Sume status-check action in a loop.
  • Extra write steps, such as Slack and Sheets both.

Receiving the event

Verify the signature before you act: the header x-sume-webhook-signature carries sume-v1=<hex> over <timestamp>.<raw_body>. See webhooks.
