HeyGen credits cost $0.048, $0.049 and $0.099 by plan

HeyGen Creator is $29 for 600 credits, Pro $49 for 1,000 and Business $149 for 1,500 plus seats, so Business credits cost twice as much. Sume sells no credits.

Per credit, HeyGen's Business plan costs about twice what Creator and Pro do. At the monthly prices on its pricing page, Creator is $29 for 600 credits ($0.048 each), Pro is $49 for 1,000 ($0.049) and Business is $149 plus $20 a seat for 1,500 ($0.099 each before seats). The higher tier buys longer videos and more seats, not cheaper credits.

That matters when you are choosing a plan to make more videos. Moving from Creator to Pro adds credits at the same rate and unlocks up to 4K; moving to Business doubles the rate and raises the length limit to 60 minutes.

Seats change the rate

With seats the Business credit gets dearer: 5 seats is $149 + $100 = $249 for 1,500 credits, $0.166 each. With 10 seats it is $349, $0.233 each. So the plan is for a team that needs the seats, not for a person who needs credits.

The page text I read does not state whether any seat is included in the $149, so the seat arithmetic is a ceiling; confirm at checkout.

A worked example shows why this matters. Suppose you need 1,200 credits a month. Creator's 600 credits do not cover it, Pro's 1,000 do not either, and Business's 1,500 do. Two Creator plans would be $58 for 1,200 credits if the page allowed stacking, which it may not, while one Business plan with a single seat is at least $149. The extra cost buys the longer video limit and the team features rather than more output per dollar, so check that you need them before you pay the premium. Also keep in mind that the credit counts are monthly allowances, and the page text I read does not say what a single video costs in credits.

The Sume contrast

Sume does not sell credits. A workspace has a USD balance, you top it up from the dashboard, and each avatar job reserves its estimated cost and captures it on success. There is no seat count, and there is no per-credit rate that gets worse on a larger plan, because there are no plans.

Avatar jobs are 4 to 60 seconds and 720p at this time, with quality standard, plus or max. For the dollar price of a job, read GET /v1/catalog; the docs I read do not publish a fixed avatar figure and I will not make one up.

  • Need long presenter videos and 4K: Pro at $49 is the cheapest HeyGen plan that lists both.
  • Need a team on one account: Business, and budget the seats separately.
  • Need short scripted clips from code: a Sume balance and no seat arithmetic.

Verdict

Compare per-credit prices before upgrading. A tier that costs twice as much per credit may still be right if you need what it unlocks, but do not choose it for volume.
