Handmade seller: an About the Maker avatar video with a product photo
A 25-second About the Maker clip for a shop page costs $4.85 at standard and $6.45 at plus with a product photo. See the request and a script frame.
Buyers of handmade goods want to know who made the thing. A written About page does that in text. A 25 second clip from a presenter, with one signature product in frame, does it faster. You do not need to appear on camera: a reusable avatar and one product photo are enough. This post prices the clip.
Cost of a 25 second clip
Twenty-five seconds is about 60 words. With a product photo, the rates are $0.194 per second at standard, $0.258 at plus and $0.58 at max.
| Quality | Rate per second | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $0.194 | $4.85 |
| Plus (default) | $0.258 | $6.45 |
| Max | $0.58 | $14.50 |
A script frame for makers
Three sentences do the work: what you make and how, where the materials come from, and what a buyer gets. Keep to facts you can stand behind: a claim like "hand-poured in small batches" has to be true.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/avatar-1.0/talking-video \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"avatar_handle":"@host","quality":"plus","aspect_ratio":"9:16","product_image":"https://example.com/candle.jpg","script":"I make candles in my garage studio, one small batch at a time. The wax is soy and the jars are reused glass. Each one ships with a note from me."}'The honest-avatar question
If the avatar looks like you, it is your likeness: create it from your own photo with input: photo. If it is an invented presenter, say so in the page copy so buyers do not think they are seeing the maker. Sume creates avatars for $0.95, so trying a few options costs a few dollars.
Where to put it
Place the clip at the top of the About page and in the first row of the shop page. Use 1:1 or 4:3 for a page embed and 9:16 for a story. Rendering the same script in two aspect ratios at standard costs 2 x $4.85 = $9.70.
