xAI's models page lists Imagine video as "Starting at $0.05 / sec" and Imagine image as "Starting at $0.02 / image". On Sume the Grok video model is grok-imagine-video-1.5: Sume's pricing table holds a list rate of $0.0100 per output second for it, and the docs say Sume bills list x 1.25, which is $0.0125 per second reserved at submit.

xAI's figure is a starting price on its own page and Sume's is a rate in Sume's pricing table, so the two are not the same measurement. Sume's code labels its rate as the genmedia (fal) price of $0.01 per output video second, well below xAI's "starting at" figure, so do not read the gap as a like-for-like discount. Vendor numbers are from xAI's page and Sume's from Video Router, read 2026-10-01.

What does a Grok clip cost per second on Sume?

The code rate is one flat number per output second. The Video Router page says Sume bills list x 1.25 on every model, so the estimate for a clip is seconds times $0.0125.

Grok Imagine video on Sume at list x 1.25, from the pricing table, read 2026-10-01.
Clip lengthListReserved at list x 1.25
5 s$0.05$0.0625
8 s$0.08$0.1000
10 s$0.10$0.1250
15 s$0.15$0.1875

What does xAI say its page covers?

The xAI page puts Imagine Image 2.0 at 1K and 2K from $0.02 per image, and Grok Imagine Video 1.5 at 480p, 720p and 1080p from $0.05 per second. "Starting at" means the page prints a floor, so read the rate for your resolution in xAI's own docs before you budget.

Sume's image row for Grok is grok-image at a $0.02 list rate; see Grok image on Sume.

What does a Grok video request need on Sume?

Send model: "grok-imagine-video-1.5" to POST /v1/videos. The OpenAPI document says image_url is required for this model and end_image_url is not supported, so it is image-to-video with a start frame only. Reference handling is covered in Grok Imagine video 1.5 reference images.

How do I check the price before I submit?

Read pricing_skus for the model from GET /v1/video-router/models and treat the estimate as a reservation: it is held on submit and the job captures it on completion, with failed jobs releasing or refunding it. The Video generation docs describe the same billing line for every model.
