Google's Gemini 3.8 TTS announcement lists voice remixing, which adjusts timbre, pitch, pace and accent, as coming soon, so it is not a feature you can call today. Sume TTS 1.0 offers three delivery controls: speed, volume and a free-text emotion string.

What Google has said

In the Google blog post from Sept 23, remixing is flagged as upcoming. What exists now, per the speech generation docs, is 30 prebuilt voices, a style field and inline tags such as pauses and laughs, plus voice design through the voices endpoint.

What Sume exposes

These come from the Sume TTS request schema in the API reference:

volume0.5 to 2.0Level multiplier

Practical advice

If a campaign needs the same brand voice a little lower or older, you cannot dial that on Sume. Pick a different voice from the list instead. Do not plan a launch around a Google feature that has no date. When remixing ships, read its docs page before comparing.
