Gemini Omni Flash 4K: Google says it is upscaled, so what do you get?

Google's Omni page calls 1080p and 4K upscaled. What that means for a 4K order, and when to upscale a 720p clip yourself on Sume instead.

The 4K option on Gemini Omni Flash is not native 4K rendering. Google's Omni page lists 360p, 720p, 1080p (upscaled) and 4K (upscaled), with 720p as the default (read 2026-10-03). So a 4K file has the detail of the base render at larger dimensions. Sume's gemini-omni-flash-1.1 row lists the same four resolutions.

Choosing

If the deliverable is a social post, 1080p is usually the ceiling that viewers see. For a large display, compare a 4K request against a 720p render upscaled 2x or 3x on a single test clip. Look at edges and text, which show upscaling the fastest.

The how-to-upscale guide covers factors and tiers.
