English podcast clip to a Spanish short: dub and captions, $0.38
An English podcast clip turned into a Spanish short costs up to $0.38 on Sume: trim, detach, transcribe, speak, render and one caption job at $0.20.

Turning a 45-second English podcast clip into a Spanish short costs up to $0.38 on Sume at list rates: trim, detach, one speech-to-text minute, 675 characters of TTS, a concat, a one-minute render and one $0.20 caption job. Index-Translate's listed free API supplies the Spanish.
Assumptions: a podcast with a video recording of 30 minutes or less per source file (the trim cap is 1,800 seconds, so see the linked post for longer shows), a 45-second clip and a narrator voice that is not the host. Rates are from the Video trim docs, Timeline docs and pricing page, read 2026-10-05.
Per-clip steps
The Spanish dub and the Spanish captions are separate choices; see the table for what each adds.
| Step | Count | Rate | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trim the clip | 1 | $0.02 per job | $0.02 |
| Detach the audio | 1 | $0.01 per job | $0.01 |
| Speech-to-text | 1 min | $0.01 per minute | $0.01 |
| Sume TTS, 675 characters | 1 | $0.0475 per 1,000 | $0.0321 |
| Concat speech for its length | 1 | $0.01 per job | $0.01 |
| Timeline render | 1 min | $0.10 per output minute | $0.10 |
| Spanish caption job | 1 | $0.20 per job | $0.20 |
| Total, up to | $0.382 |
Be straight about the voice
This chain replaces the speakers with one narrator voice you choose with voice.id. If the show's value is the hosts' voices, caption the original clip in Spanish instead, which is $0.22 per clip including the transcript.
Output shape
The timeline renders 1080x1920 by default, which suits a vertical short; set output.width and output.height for another shape.
