Crowdfunding intro video: preview first, render at Max
Check a 30-second campaign intro on a Sume preview, then override quality to max only at generate-video. A 30-second Max render costs $16.50.
For a crowdfunding intro, create the preview at standard, iterate on the first frame with regenerate, then call generate-video with quality: "max" so only the final render is billed at the top tier. A 30-second Max render costs $16.50, against $5.52 on Standard and $7.35 on Plus.
The override is documented in Sume's avatar video previews guide, read 2026-10-04: structural fields stay fixed, only quality may change, and admission, reservation and billing use the effective tier. That guide does not state a price for the preview itself, so confirm it in GET /v1/catalog before you plan a loop of many previews.
The loop
A campaign video is judged on its first seconds, so the first frame matters. Use previews to pick the frame, not to test the script: a script change is a structural change and needs a new preview.
| You want to | Call |
|---|---|
| Refresh the stills with the same request | POST /v1/avatar-video-previews/:id/regenerate |
| Change the script, scene or avatar | New POST /v1/avatar-video-previews |
| Render the approved preview | POST /v1/avatar-video-previews/:id/generate-video |
| Render at a different tier | Same call, body {"quality": "max"} |
What the final render costs
The render is per second at the effective tier. With no product image:
| Item | Standard | Plus | Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30-second intro | $5.52 | $7.35 | $16.50 |
| Two takes of the intro | $11.04 | $14.70 | $33.00 |
| Intro plus 60-second story version | $16.56 | $22.05 | $49.50 |
Override at the final step
Send an empty body to keep the tier chosen at create, or send quality to override it.

Do not present a generated presenter as a founder or a real customer. If the avatar is made from a real person's photo, get that person's permission first. Say in the clip, the caption or the page around it that the presenter is AI-generated; the API does not add that label for you.
