Subtitling 20 Shorts in 5 languages is 100 Video captions jobs. At $0.20 each for a video up to 60 seconds, that is $20.00 (Sume docs, read 2026-10-03). It does not include translation, which you do yourself or buy elsewhere, and it assumes each Short is 60 seconds or less. Read the live rate in GET /v1/catalog before a large run.

Cost by size

The formula is clips x languages x $0.20.

Run it safely

Submit each job with a unique Idempotency-Key built from clip id and language, such as clip07-ko, so a retry reuses the same job. Poll each job and handle failures one by one, not as a batch. Review one finished file per language before spending on the others, especially Korean, where the style follows Hangul wording (see captions in two languages).

What the number leaves out

The count excludes any re-runs after a translation fix, any dubbing, and any trim or generation steps before captioning.
