A finished minute of video on Sume costs between $4.23 (Wan 3.0 at 480p) and $90.26 (Seedance 2.5 at 1080p) once you add voiceover, one music track, a timeline render and the 5.5% platform fee. Video is by far the largest line. The other three lines add $0.26 before the fee, whichever model you pick.

Assumptions

A finished minute needs more than clips. This example assumes the pieces below; change any of them and rerun the arithmetic.

  • Video: 60 seconds, made from two 30-second clips (Gemini Omni Flash is priced per second, so one 60-second line is equivalent).
  • Voiceover: 800 characters, because Cartesia's pricing page (read 2026-10-07) says speech runs about 750 to 800 characters per minute. The 800 figure is Cartesia's, used here only to size the script.
  • Music: one track at $0.125.
  • Timeline: one minute of output at $0.10, which the docs treat as a reserve ceiling.
  • Fee: 5.5% of the sum, floored.

The ladder

Video lines use Sume's sell price (provider list x 1.25). Voiceover is 800 x $0.0475 per 1,000 characters, which is $0.038.

Where the money goes

On the cheapest row the video is about 93% of the pre-fee total; on the Seedance 2.5 1080p row it is about 100%. That is why model and resolution choice matter more than any other cost control. The timeline post explains why the timeline line can come in lower than shown.

Before you run it

Each piece reserves at submit, so the balance must cover the whole stack if you queue them together. Compare the last column with GET /v1/balance, and see the usage summary post for how reserved, captured and refunded rows add up afterwards.
