Change hair color in a video with a Gemini Omni Flash edit
Try a hair color change on a video clip with Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 on Sume: one-change prompt, the 10 second limit, region limits and a face-consistency check.

To change someone's hair color in a clip, send the video to Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 as video_url and write one change: "Change the hair color to deep auburn. Keep everything else the same." Google lists swapping characters and objects in existing video as an Omni capability, but does not list hair color specifically, so test on your own clip and inspect it.
Use footage you have the right to edit. Google restricts editing uploaded video in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK and restricts image uploads containing minors or recognizable people in those regions. Sources: Gemini API Omni docs, Omni prompt guide and DeepMind's Omni page (read 2026-10-03).
Limits that affect this edit
The clip must be 10 seconds or less. The output has SynthID. Voice editing is unsupported, so speech in the clip may be regenerated rather than preserved.

Sume's edit mode is chosen by video_url: it cannot be combined with image_url, end_image_url or reference_*_urls, takes no aspect_ratio or duration, and resolution defaults to 720p. Native audio is always on.

}'Check identity and edges
Take stills at matching times from the source and result with Video inspect. Look at the face, hair edges when the head turns, and hands crossing the hair. If the face has drifted, the result is not usable for that person. Fix by trimming to a shorter, steadier clip.
