Editorial two-line video captions: the editorial-emphasis style
Sume's editorial-emphasis caption style is a left-aligned two-line card where the phrase-final word drops to a second line at about twice the size.

For an editorial two-line caption look, set style: "editorial-emphasis" on POST /v1/video-captions. The docs describe a left-aligned two-line card: the lead words stay small and the phrase-final word drops to a second line at roughly twice the size, in a display face, sliding in from the margin.
This comes from Sume's Video captions docs, read 2026-10-01. In the wider news, Blackmagic's 2026-09-08 release says Cloud Presentations has been updated with subtitle support.
Is editorial-emphasis for Korean speech?
Yes. It is one of the Hangul caption identities, meant for Korean talking-head, UGC and voiceover speech. These group words into phrase cards instead of one word at a time. Latin display styles such as slam reject Korean copy with caption_hangul_text_latin_style; see that error.
How does it compare with the other phrase-card styles?
| Style | Look in the docs |
|---|---|
black-outline | White fill on a thick black outline, mid-frame |
weight-shift | Phrase cards; the spoken word takes the weight |
highlight | An accent block sweeps in behind the spoken word |
pill-karaoke | Card in a dark pill; colour tracks the voice |
clip-wipe | Each word wiped in left to right |
editorial-emphasis | Two-line card; phrase-final word drops to a second line at about twice the size |
Which font does it use?
Pretendard for the lead line. The emphasis line is drawn in Black Han Sans whatever font says, because the look is the contrast between two faces. Setting font moves the lead line only.
How do I request it?
Name the style and, for Korean speech, a language hint. language only tells speech-to-text what to expect; it never selects the style.
