A 100-item Format bulk queue where each item makes one 5-second Wan 3.0 clip at 480p costs $31.25 in video generation ($0.3125 per clip) and needs 7 rounds at the maximum concurrency of 16. Set a per-item generation_spend_cap_usd because the queue object has no cap of its own.

Cost by resolution

The table assumes one 5-second clip per item. A Format run is an agent turn, so the real item also includes whatever other tools it calls.

The bulk request

Mint a fresh Idempotency-Key per batch; replaying a spent key returns the old queue with 202. Each item has the same body as a single run.

curl -sS -X POST "https://api.sume.com/v1/formats/$HANDLE/$SLUG/bulk-runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -d '{"concurrency": 16, "items": [
    {"instruction": "5 s Wan 3.0 480p clip of item 1", "generation_spend_cap_usd": 1}
  ]}'

Limits and gotchas

Poll the queue at GET /v1/format-run-queues/{id}. A queue completed status means every item reached a terminal state, not that every item succeeded.

  • Check counts.failed before you ship results.
  • One bad item fails the whole create with 400 and nothing runs.
  • Rounds at concurrency 4 would be 25, not 7.
