Black Friday grocery and toy promo videos with AI: where to start
Adobe's forecast has grocery up 10.3% and toys up 9.6%, the fastest of its categories. Which Sume Formats fit a food or toy promo, and what to check.

Grocery and toys are the fastest-growing categories in Adobe's holiday forecast, up 10.3% to $26.1 billion and up 9.6% to $9.6 billion online, as reported 2026-09-29. For a promo video in either, start from the Sume Formats that show a product doing something: sume-product-usage-demo, sume-slideshow or sume-fruits-drama.
Three starting points
The catalog gives each Format a job. For food and toys, the short, playful ones are the closest match.
| Format | Described as | Good for |
|---|---|---|
sume-fruits-drama | About 5 s vertical clip of a fruit character saying a line | Produce or snack teasers |
sume-slideshow | Fastlane, TikTok-style | A multi-product offer |
sume-product-usage-demo | A product being used | Toys in play, kitchen items |
sume-wall-of-text | Fastlane, TikTok-style | A text-led deal |
Rules for food and toy ads
Show the real product. An ad that shows a toy doing something it cannot do, or food that looks different on the shelf, creates complaints, and generated video can embellish. Supply your own packshots and say in instruction that the product's shape and packaging must not change.
Toy ads aimed at children carry their own advertising rules in many places. Sume does not apply them for you, so check your local rules before you publish.
Scale it carefully
A grocery range can mean hundreds of items. A bulk run takes 1 to 100 items per queue, with concurrency from 1 to 16. The queue has no webhook of its own, only per-item events, and completed on the queue does not mean every item worked. After each batch, list the failed items and requeue only those.
Test one item first, check the receipt, and only then send the batch.
Keep claims plain
Say only what is true of the product: the price, the size, the flavor or the age range printed on the box. Leave health claims out of generated copy altogether, and read every line of on-screen text twice, since generated words can come out wrong.
Keep a record
Food and toy ranges turn over fast, so a tested recipe saves real time. Keep a short log beside the files: the Format slug, the exact instruction, the Idempotency-Key and the final cost from the receipt. When something works, you can repeat it on demand, and when something fails, you can see what changed between the two runs.
