Avatar creation is $0.95: its share of 1, 2, 4, 10 and 25 clips
A new Sume avatar costs $0.95 once. Spread over 15-second standard clips at $2.76 each, it adds 24 cents per clip at 4 clips and under 4 cents at 25.
A new Sume avatar costs $0.95 once, and a 15-second standard avatar video costs $2.76 (15 x $0.184). The avatar fee is therefore 25.6 percent of the first clip's total ($0.95 of $3.71), 7.9 percent at four clips and 1.4 percent at twenty-five. The creation fee matters when you make a new avatar for every few videos; it disappears when you reuse one.
Cost per clip as the avatar is reused
Standard-tier avatar video is $0.184 per second in the catalog. The table assumes every clip is 15 seconds at the standard tier and the avatar is created once.
| Clips | Total | Total per clip |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $3.7100 | $3.7100 |
| 2 | $6.4700 | $3.2350 |
| 4 | $11.9900 | $2.9975 |
| 10 | $28.5500 | $2.8550 |
| 25 | $69.9500 | $2.7980 |
What moves the answer
The tier changes the picture far more than the creation fee. A plus-tier clip is $0.245 per second, so 15 seconds is $3.675, and a max-tier clip at $0.55 per second is $8.25. At four clips, the creation fee adds $0.2375 per clip regardless of tier, while moving from standard to max adds $5.49 per clip (8.25 - 2.76).
Per-clip creation share = 0.95 / n. It falls below five cents from n = 20.
Five presenters versus one
A team that creates 5 avatars and makes 4 fifteen-second standard clips of each pays 5 x $0.95 + 20 x $2.76 = $4.75 + $55.20 = $59.95. One avatar with 20 clips costs $0.95 + $55.20 = $56.15. The five-avatar plan is $3.80 dearer, and the clips are the same.
Shorter clips raise the creation share. A 10-second standard clip is 10 x $0.184 = $1.84, and spreading $0.95 over 4 of them adds $0.2375 each, which is 12.9 percent of the clip price. At 15 seconds the share is 8.6 percent. If your clips are short, avoid creating throwaway avatars.
Creation is a flat fee and does not depend on the tier you use for video later, so decide the tier per clip, not per avatar.
Practical rule
Create the avatar once per presenter, not once per campaign, and keep the handle. Spend the savings on the tier that carries the shot: standard for talking-head, plus or max only where the face is close to the camera. Read the avatar doc for how handles are reused.
Checks before you create another avatar
Ask whether the next video really needs a new face, because each one is a new $0.95.
The creation fee does not change with the tier, but its share does. For a 15-second clip at the plus tier ($3.675) the creation share at 4 clips is 0.2375 / 3.9125 = 6.1 percent; at the max tier ($8.25) it is 2.8 percent. Heavier tiers hide the fee; cheaper tiers expose it. So the avatar-reuse rule matters most for short, standard-tier clips.
- If the presenter is the same, reuse the avatar handle and pay only the per-second video price.
- If the look is new, create one avatar for the campaign and reuse it for every clip in that campaign.
- Plan the clip count first: at 10 clips of 15 seconds the creation fee is $0.095 per clip, and at 2 clips it is $0.475.
