Argil pricing: plans, API credits per minute, and the API

Argil pricing is in credits: plans come with a monthly credit allowance, and Argil's API and pay-as-you-go pages price video at 160 credits per minute plus 20 per minute of voice. The API uses the same credits, and its prices apply to clients on a Classic plan or above. Argil's docs list the plans by credits (1,500, 6,000 and 18,000 a month, plus a custom tier), not by dollar price.

What plans does Argil offer?

Argil's Plans page lists four tiers. The FAQ ties the 6,000-credit tier to Pro, and the API pricing page says the API is priced for Classic plans and above.

How much does an Argil video cost in credits?

Argil's API pricing and avatar pages list these credit costs:

• Video: 160 credits per minute.
• Voice: 20 credits per minute.
• Royalty: 20 credits per video, on Argil's v1 avatars only. If you train your own avatar, you don't pay it.
• B-roll: 10 credits for an AI image, 20 for a stock video.

Do Argil credits roll over?

Plan credits don't: Argil says they refresh each month and don't stack. Extra pay-as-you-go credits, bought in the app, never expire. With yearly billing you pay for the year up front and keep a monthly credit allowance. Accounts over 60,000 credits a month are pointed to Argil's enterprise contact.

One thing to confirm with Argil: both its worked examples count 70 video credits for a 30-second clip, which doesn't match 160 credits per minute.

How does the Argil API work?

The API lives at https://api.argil.ai/v1 and takes your key in the x-api-key header; creating a key needs a paid plan. The quickstart flow:

• Have a trained avatar, then GET /avatars and GET /voices for the ids.
• POST /videos with a name and moments. Each moment takes an avatarId, a voice, and either a transcript (500 characters at most) or an audioUrl (40 seconds at most).
• POST /videos/{video_id}/render starts the render.
• Poll GET /videos/{id} until the status is DONE, then read videoUrl.
• POST /avatars with type: "IMAGE" makes an avatar from one image for 2 credits; HeyGen vs Argil lists the image rules.

How is a per-second avatar API billed instead?

Some avatar APIs bill money per second rather than plan credits. Sume's, for example, charges $0.95 per avatar to create an avatar and bills talking video per second from a prepaid wallet: $0.184/s standard, $0.245/s plus, $0.55/s max (no product image), plus a 5.5% agent fee by default.
