Amazon's Sponsored Products video guide recommends 1920x1080 at 16:9 today and says vertical 9:16 is to be available in 2026. The page does not give a date, so the practical move is to export both ratios from one master and upload the one that is accepted for your campaign. Sume can render a vertical master and then a 16:9 cut, with timeline compose building a wide frame from a vertical clip.

What Amazon's page says

The guide is the source for every value in the table. I treat the vertical statement as future and uncommitted.

Two cuts from one master

Make the vertical clip first, since it suits mobile placements elsewhere. For the 16:9 version, timeline compose stacks or overlays a still and a video in one frame; its docs describe stack and overlay layouts and a default output of 1080x1920, and you can set output.width and output.height to a landscape size. Cost is a flat $0.02 per job.

An overlay of the vertical clip on a still background gives a wide frame without cropping the product. Check the product's share of the frame afterward, since Amazon asks for at least 50% and an overlay can make it smaller than the source.

  • Render vertical first, keep the product centered.
  • Build the 16:9 with timeline compose using a background still.
  • Check the product fills half the wide frame, or re-frame the shot.

Limits

Do not upload a vertical file to a Sponsored Products campaign until Amazon's console accepts it, because the guide only says it will be available. A letterboxed wide frame with a small product may fail the 50% rule. Sume does not upload to Amazon, and acceptance is Amazon's decision.
