Amazon's Sponsored Brands video spec asks for 6 to 45 seconds, with 20 seconds or less recommended, in 16:9 (read 2026-10-02). With Sume you can make a 16:9 talking explainer using the Avatar 1.0 talking-video endpoint with aspect_ratio: "16:9" and a script that fits 45 seconds, then confirm duration and size with the unbilled video inspect probe. Sume does not submit to Amazon Ads, and the avatar output is 720p, so check that against the resolutions Amazon lists.

What Amazon asks for

The values below are as printed on the Amazon Ads specification page.

Sponsored Brands video, from Amazon Ads (read 2026-10-02)
ItemAmazon's spec
Length6 to 45 seconds; 20 seconds or less recommended
Aspect ratio16:9 (square pixel) only
Resolution1280x720, 1920x1080 or 3840x2160
FileMP4 or MOV, 500 MB or less, H.264 or H.265
Frame rate23.976, 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.98 or 30 fps
Video bitrateMinimum 1 Mbps; 4 Mbps or more recommended
AudioPCM, AAC or MP3; stereo or mono; at least 96 kbps and 44.1 kHz

Make the explainer in 16:9

The Avatar 1.0 talking video endpoint takes aspect_ratio of 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 4:3 or 16:9 (default 9:16), so you must ask for 16:9. A job runs 4 to 60 seconds, so a 45-second explainer fits in one job. Add a product_image if the product should appear, and write the script to be spoken in under 45 seconds with room to spare; Amazon recommends 20 seconds or less.

Check before you upload

Run video inspect on the result. The probe is unbilled and reports the facts to compare against the table: duration, dimensions, frame rate and whether there is an audio track. Compare each against the Amazon values yourself.

  • Duration between 6 and 45 seconds.
  • Width and height match 1280x720 or another listed size. Sume's avatar resolution is documented as 720p.
  • Frame rate is on Amazon's list. If it is not, video_trim with output.fps can re-encode to 24, 25 or 30.
  • File is MP4 and under 500 MB.

What Sume does not do here

Sume does not check Amazon's moderation rules, bitrate floor or audio bitrate, and it does not upload to Seller or Advertising Console. Treat the Amazon page as the source of truth and re-read it before each campaign, because ad specs change.
