Every figure below is the repo's list rate times Sume's 1.25 margin, at default settings: 1K for Nano Banana, medium for Ideogram 4.5, and high quality at 1024 square for the GPT rows.

Read the table with care
- ChatGPT Image 2.5 is token-priced. Its row is a high-quality 1024 display rate; low quality at 1280x720 is $0.004 billed, and max at 1024 is $0.2635.
- Nano Banana and Ideogram 4.5 move with tier or quality: 2.1 runs $0.075 to $0.20, Pro $0.1875 to $0.375, and Ideogram 4.5 $0.0375 to $0.275.
- Soul's list rate is an account estimate, not a published tariff.
- Price is not capability. Imagen 4, Recraft V4, Qwen Image Max and Soul do not accept reference photos.
Picking from the list
If you need edits, drop the text-only rows first. If you need Instagram 4:5, drop Imagen, Grok and Soul, which do not list it. If you need a hard 21:9, use Nano Banana, Flux, Qwen, Recraft, or Qwen Max. After that, price is the tie-breaker, and a 20-prompt A/B at the rates above costs well under $2 on most rows.
How to turn the table into a budget
Pick the row, multiply by the number of images, and add a retry allowance. For 200 social posts at one final each and 30% retries on the Seedream 4.5 row, that is 260 x $0.05 = $13.00. The same plan on Nano Banana 2.1 at 2K is 260 x $0.15 = $39.00. For ChatGPT Image 2.5, use the estimator values for your canvas and quality, not the display rate in the table.
The billing rule helps here: failed or cancelled generations are not charged, so a retry allowance applies to images that completed but were not good enough, not to errors. Log usage.cost per call and compare the sum to your plan after the first twenty images; if it differs, check the tier, quality or size you sent.
Keep it current
The catalog moves: Nano Banana 2 was retired and now runs as 2.1, and rows get added. Pull GET /v1/images/models for the live set and GET /v1/images/models/{id}/endpoints for the price. The Image API page explains both routes and the billing rule that failed generations are not charged.
