AI video API news, Oct 13 2026: Grok Imagine, Omni Flash, HelixWorld
What the vendor pages say today about Grok Imagine Video 1.5 and Lite, Gemini Omni Flash as Google's default, and HelixWorld, and which have a Sume id.

Three things on vendor pages matter to a caller today. xAI's models page prices Grok Imagine Video 1.5 at $0.080 a second and 1.5 Lite at $0.020. Google's Gemini API video guide names Gemini Omni Flash as the recommended default for video generation and conversational editing. And HelixWorld, Noiz AI's real-time audio-visual world model, is on GitHub with code and a preview checkpoint but no commercial API. Sume carries the first and the second, in part, and not the third.
The three items
The table keeps vendor claims and Sume facts separate. The vendor column is what each page said when I read it; the Sume column is from the Video Router and Video generation docs.
| Item | What the vendor page says | On Sume |
|---|---|---|
| Grok Imagine Video 1.5 | $0.080 per second; guide lists image-to-video, editing, extension, references up to 14 images | grok-imagine-video-1.5: image-to-video only, 480p or 720p, 4 to 15 s, 1.25 cents a second |
| Grok Imagine Video 1.5 Lite | $0.020 per second | Not in the catalog |
| Gemini Omni Flash | Recommended default; generation and conversational editing | gemini-omni-flash-1.1: text, image, reference and edit; 3 to 10 s; 360p to 4K |
| HelixWorld | Real-time, 768x512 at 24 fps, camera control by keys | Not offered |
What to do this week
If you use Grok for image-to-video only, the Sume row is cheaper per second than xAI's headline price, and you keep one key and one wallet. If you need Lite, text-to-video, xAI's editing or its extension, call xAI. If you want prompt-based editing of an existing clip, Sume's Omni edit mode is the route; send video_url to the Video Router. And HelixWorld is for people who run models themselves.
- Re-test any Grok pipeline against the 480p and 720p limits.
- Pin
gemini-omni-flash-1.1rather than trusting a default, or sendsume/auto, which resolves to Omni by default. - Read HelixWorld's licenses before using its weights in a product.
A caveat on dates
Prices on vendor pages change. Everything here is as read on 2026-10-13, and the Sume catalog at GET /v1/videos/models is the place to check what your key can call today.
