Before paid media uses AI music, ask five questions: what the model was trained on, what rights you keep if you cancel, what file you can download, whether the vendor lists its terms for commercial use, and what record you can keep of each track. This is a buyer checklist, not legal advice; get counsel for anything high-stakes.

Two recent reports show why the questions matter. TechCrunch (2026-09-09) reported that Suno v6 is trained on licensed data from Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe while suits from Sony, UMG and artists continue. Daily AI Pedia reported that rights to ElevenLabs Music tracks survive cancellation and free downloads are lossless.

What should the answers look like?

Treat each question as a row to fill from the vendor's own terms page, with a date. If an answer is missing, write missing, do not assume.

Five questions and what we found. Reports read 2026-10-02; vendor terms not checked.

Where does Sume fit?

Sume's Music 1.0 and Music Router generate tracks from a text brief, and job.request.routed_model records which engine ran. This post does not state the commercial terms for those tracks; read the terms that apply to your Sume plan and record the clause you rely on, as with any vendor.

What record do I keep per ad?

Keep the brief, the job id, the engine named in routed_model, the date, the file hash, and the ad ids where the track ran. If a dispute comes, you can find every ad that used the track and replace it quickly.
