A 90 s YouTube Short from three 30 s AI shots: $11.45 on Wan 3.0

YouTube lets Shorts run up to three minutes, and Audio Library songs up to 90 s. A 90 s Short from three Wan 3.0 shots costs $11.45 on Sume.

A 90-second vertical Short built from three 30-second Wan 3.0 shots at 720p costs $11.45 on Sume ($11.25 for the shots and $0.20 for the Timeline render), or $52.22 on Seedance 2.5 (as of 2026-10-08). YouTube allows Shorts up to three minutes and Audio Library songs up to 90 s in a three-minute Short.

What YouTube allows

YouTube's Help page (read 2026-10-08) says Shorts can be up to three minutes and use a square or vertical aspect ratio. Vertical or square videos up to three minutes uploaded on or after 2024-10-15 are Shorts. Audio Library songs can be used for up to 90 s in a three-minute Short, and some are limited to 60 or 30 s. A Short over one minute with an active Content ID claim is blocked globally and loses monetization.

So a 90 s Short fits the format, and a song from the Audio Library covers it only if that song allows 90 s.

Cost of 90 s

720p$11.45$52.22
1080p$22.70$128.15

Audio and claims

Both Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 report audio in the Sume catalog, so a generated soundtrack is possible. Sume also has a Music model at a fixed $0.125 per generation, which would add 12.5 cents to a plan.

If you plan to add a licensed song, check its allowed length in YouTube's library before you design a Short over 60 s, because claims on longer Shorts have a global block as described above. This post does not give advice beyond what the Help page states.

Fit to the platform

Generate in 9:16 so Timeline's 1080 x 1920 default needs no crop. A single cost line for a Short is the table above; the Timeline fee is $0.20 for 90 s because minutes round up.

Per-minute view

A 90 s Short at 720p costs $7.63 per minute on Wan 3.0 (11.45 / 1.5) and $34.81 on Seedance 2.5 (52.22 / 1.5). TikTok's ads page (read 2026-10-08) recommends 9:16 for non-Spark video ads, with a minimum of 540 x 960 and a maximum of 10 minutes, so the same vertical cut can be reused there. Check the pixel size of the finished file against that minimum before upload.

Check the number yourself

To confirm the figure behind this post, read the wan-3.0 entry from GET /v1/video-router/models and check that 30 s and 720p are inside its duration_seconds and resolutions. The grid price for that cell is 375 cents ($3.75). It is the provider list price times 1.25, rounded up to the next cent for the job, as of 2026-10-08.

Use an Idempotency-Key on every create call so a retry cannot start a second paid job, then poll the job until it is complete and download the file from the result. Media inputs for Timeline or for references must be hosted files, so import them first.

None of the prices here say anything about picture quality, motion or how well a model follows a prompt. Prices can change when a provider changes its list, which is why every table carries a date. Re-read the catalog before you commit a large batch, and run one test job at the exact setting you plan to use.
