Sume's 5.5% fee in dollars on a $50, $250, $1,000 or $5,000 month

The 5.5% fee is charged on the list x 1.25 amount. On $50 of catalog spend it is $2.75, on $1,000 it is $55. A table, and where the fee sits in the formula.

Sume charges the vendor list price × 1.25, then a 5.5% fee on that result. The fee is therefore a percentage of the catalog amount, not of the vendor list. This post shows it in dollars at four monthly sizes, so you can see what it adds to a bill you can already estimate from the catalogs.

Sume prices every job at the vendor list price × 1.25, then adds a 5.5% fee on that result, so $1.00 of list becomes $1.31875 (how the formula works). The tables below show both the catalog price (list × 1.25) and the all-in figure with the fee.

Fee at four spend levels

Computed from the Sume fee policy: 5.5% of the post-margin amount; read 2026-10-06
Catalog spend (list x 1.25)5.5% feeBill with fee
$50$2.75$52.75
$250$13.75$263.75
$1,000$55.00$1,055.00
$5,000$275.00$5,275.00

Back to vendor list

If you only know the vendor list spend, multiply by 1.31875. A $1,000 month of vendor list prices becomes $1,318.75: $1,250.00 after the margin and $68.75 for the fee. See the formula worked on one dollar for the micros arithmetic.

Because the fee is a flat percentage, it does not change which model is cheaper; it scales every line the same. Compare models on catalog price and add the fee once at the end.
