45-second 9:16 ad for TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest: checks and $0.32
A 45-second 720x1280 ad clears TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest length and size lists. The Sume pipeline is trim $0.02, timeline $0.10, captions $0.20: $0.32.

A 45-second 720x1280 MP4 meets the length, size and format lists on all three platform pages, and producing it with Sume costs $0.32: a $0.02 trim, a $0.10 timeline render and a $0.20 caption job. Two recommendations are missed, not rules: LinkedIn recommends 15 to 30 seconds and Pinterest recommends 6 to 15 seconds (platform pages, read 2026-10-09).
Check the file against each page
All three pages list their own requirements. This table compares a 45-second, 720x1280, 25 fps MP4 against the items each page states.
| Check | TikTok non-Spark | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Length 45 s | Up to 10 min: passes | 3 s to 30 min: passes; 15 to 30 s recommended | 4 s to 15 min: passes; 6 to 15 s recommended |
| 9:16 at 720x1280 | 540x960 or more: passes | 360x640 to 1080x1920: passes, recommended | 9:16 is recommended: passes |
| MP4 | Listed: passes | Only MP4: passes | Listed: passes |
| 25 fps | No frame rate listed | Under 30 FPS: passes | No frame rate listed |
| Size and bitrate | 500 MB, at least 516 kbps: check file | 75 KB to 500 MB: check file | Up to 2 GB: check file |
The Sume steps and the arithmetic
Step one, video trim the best 45 seconds out of a longer source: $0.02. Step two, a timeline render at output 720x1280 and fps 25 with a voice or music spine of 45 seconds: ceil(45/60) = 1 minute x $0.10 = $0.10. Step three, a caption job: $0.20 for videos of up to 60 seconds. Total: $0.02 + $0.10 + $0.20 = $0.32.
The trim and the timeline each need the clip to be in your workspace on media.sume.com, so import it first. The caption job takes a public HTTPS video URL. Each step is a job, so poll GET /v1/jobs/:id/status and read GET /v1/jobs/:id/result.
If you want the recommendations too
Cutting to 30 seconds meets LinkedIn's recommendation. Cutting to 15 seconds meets Pinterest's. The costs barely move: a 30-second timeline render is still one billed minute, $0.10, so only the caption text and the content change. If you make two cuts, one at 30 and one at 15, you pay for two renders and two caption jobs: 2 x ($0.10 + $0.20) = $0.60, plus the trims.
That is a content question more than a price question. A 45-second ad can still run on LinkedIn and Pinterest; the pages call the shorter lengths recommended, not required. See the 15 to 30 second post for how to cut a longer video to the recommendation.
What this does not cover
Sume has no bitrate field and the pages differ on it, so the file size check is the one step you must do yourself. Also, this list covers only what the three pages state. Each ad manager may apply other review rules, such as policy checks, that are not in these spec pages. For the size overlap between the first two platforms, see the 9:16 window post.
