3D model API prices: Meshy, Tripo, Rodin side by side

3D model APIs run from about $0.01 per credit to $0.50 per model. Sume has no 3D model endpoint; compare per-asset cost with a still image or short spin clip.

A 2026 roundup from 3D AI Studio lists API prices from $0.08 to $0.50 per model at 3D AI Studio, about $0.10 to $0.25 per generation at Meshy, $0.01 per credit at Tripo and $0.50 or more at Rodin. Sume does not generate 3D models. If you only need something to show a product from several angles, a still image or a short spin video is the closest thing Sume makes.

Price table

Figures are as listed in that roundup on 2026-10-03; check each vendor's pricing page before you buy.

3D model API prices (read 2026-10-03)
VendorPricing as listed
3D AI Studio$0.08 to $0.50 per model; credits expire after 365 days
MeshyAbout $0.10 to $0.25 per generation; Free 200/mo, Pro $10 for 1,000, Studio $30 for 4,000
Tripo$0.01 per credit; 2,000 free on signup; up to 2M polys on Ultra
Rodin$0.50 and up; $120 per month minimum

Reading the table

Rodin's minimum matters at low volume: $120 a month buys little if you need ten models. Meshy's plans and Tripo's credits scale more smoothly. Credit expiry at 3D AI Studio means unused credits are lost after a year.

What Sume can price instead

The Image API docs show a per-endpoint pricing field. The docs' own example lists an output image at $0.033 per image for one model, and says to read live pricing from GET /v1/images/models/{id}/endpoints. Video models are priced by SKU in GET /v1/videos/models. Neither produces a mesh, a GLB file or UV maps.

When a spin video is enough

Pick the output to match the use. A web viewer or AR placement needs a mesh. A product page that only needs a rotating view can use a short clip.

  • Need a GLB or USDZ file: use a 3D vendor
  • Need a rotating product view: a short video can work
  • Need hero stills: the Image API
  • Compare cost per usable asset, not per generation
