25 text-heavy posters on Ideogram 4.5: $0.94, $1.88 or $6.88
Ideogram 4.5 costs $0.0375 low, $0.075 medium and $0.275 high per image on Sume. Twenty-five posters cost $0.94, $1.88 or $6.88, a 7.33x spread.

Twenty-five posters on Ideogram 4.5 cost $0.94 at low quality, $1.88 at medium and $6.88 at high on Sume, as of 2026-10-09. High costs 7.33 times low (0.275 divided by 0.0375), so run the first pass at low and only rerun the keepers at a higher tier.
Posters are the case where the quality tier matters, because they carry words, and words are where image models fail most often.
The three tiers
Per-image prices are from Sume's catalog. The last column is each tier's price divided by the low price.
| Quality | Per image | 25 posters | Versus low |
|---|---|---|---|
| low | $0.0375 | $0.94 | 1.00x |
| medium | $0.075 | $1.88 | 2.00x |
| high | $0.275 | $6.88 | 7.33x |
A two-pass plan
Make a first pass of 25 posters at low, which is $0.9375. Mark the ones where the layout and the words are right. Suppose 8 pass. Rerun those 8 at high for $2.20, for a total of about $3.14. Running all 25 at high would cost $6.875, so the two-pass plan saves about $3.74.
A rerun is a new generation, not an upgrade of the old image. The high tier may change the layout, so compare before you replace the low version. Sume does not serve a seed field, so you cannot pin the layout between the passes.
Prompt habits for text
Put the exact words in quotation marks, and say where they go: headline at the top, date at the bottom. Keep each word count low, since long sentences fail more often than short ones. Ask for one block of text per poster in the first pass and add the small print in your own layout tool afterward.
Name the font style in plain words, such as bold sans serif or hand-lettered script, not a font brand. Say what the background is so that the text has contrast. Rerun the same prompt at low two or three times before you move to high, since a low failure is cheap: three tries cost 11 cents.
Budget for a series
For a series of 25 posters, plan for retries. If you expect to keep one in three of the first pass, 75 generations at low cost $2.81 and 75 at medium cost $5.63. Decide the retry budget before you start, so the bill is not a surprise.
Ideogram rows bill only completed generations. A call that fails is not charged, but a poster that completes with a misspelled word is charged in full.
Limits that apply
Ideogram 4.5 takes up to 5 reference images on Sume, below the default of 10, and lists 15 aspect ratios including 1:3, 3:1, 10:16 and 16:10. Posters at 2:3 and 3:4 are covered. An unlisted ratio returns 400.
Check any spelling of names, dates and prices by eye. A model that renders text well still gets some of it wrong, and a poster with a wrong date is worse than no poster. See the Image API docs for the request fields.
