A $60 monthly cap spread over 1,500 images is $0.04 per image. On Sume, four image rows come in under that line: gpt-image-2.5 at low quality ($0.02475, total $37.13), grok-image and imagen-4-fast ($0.025, $37.50), and flux-2-pro ($0.0375, $56.25). Seedream 5 Lite at $0.04375 totals $65.625 and misses by $5.63.

The table

Each row multiplies the per-image catalog price by 1,500. Rows are at each model's lowest listed or default size where the catalog gives one; the gpt-image-2.5 price depends on quality and size, so the low 1K tier is used.

Choosing within the cap

The cap is a ceiling, not a target. If the images are social thumbnails, the cheaper rows leave room: at $37.50 for 1,500 grok-image or imagen-4-fast images, $22.50 remains for retries (900 more images at $0.025). If you need a higher-quality hero image for some of the set, mix tiers. For example, 1,200 images at grok-image ($30) plus 300 at flux-2-pro ($11.25) is $41.25 and leaves $18.75.

Sume bills the list price of the model times 1.25; the per-image numbers already include that. Image rows differ in what they accept (references, edits, sizes), so check the model's docs entry before you commit a pipeline to the cheapest name.

  • Images that fail a content check or never complete follow the job rules in the errors docs, not this table.
  • Upscaling a result costs $0.20 per image extra; background removal is $0.0225 per image.
  • Defaults only; options such as n greater than 1 multiply the price.

If the cap were $100

Raising the cap to $100 gives $0.0667 per image over 1,500. Then seedream-5-lite ($65.63) and recraft-v4 ($75.00) fit, while nano-banana-2.1 at 0.5K ($112.50) and ideogram-v4.5 at medium ($112.50) still do not. At $150, every row in the table above fits.

If you need 4K output, the arithmetic changes. nano-banana-2.1 at 4K is $0.20, so 1,500 images cost $300, and gpt-image-2.5 high at 4K is $0.2225 each, which comes to $333.75. For 4K work, set the cap per image first, then pick the row.

Where to read the live rows
