Creatomate credits per video minute vs Sume's flat Timeline rate
Creatomate lists about 14 credits for a 720p, 25 fps minute and 1 credit per image. Sume's Timeline charges $0.10 per output minute with no resolution tier.

Creatomate prices renders in credits: its pricing page says one image costs 1 credit and a 720p, 25 fps video costs about 14 credits per minute, with plans of 2,000, 10,000 and 50,000 credits. The page, as read, does not show the monthly dollar price of those plans, so a dollar-per-minute figure cannot be derived from it. Sume's Timeline render is a dollar rate, $0.10 per output minute rounded up, with no resolution surcharge in the docs.
Creatomate facts are from its pricing page, read 2026-10-01. Sume's rate is from the Timeline docs.
How many minutes does a Creatomate plan cover?
Dividing each plan's credits by the page's 14 credits per 720p, 25 fps minute gives the minutes below. The page says costs change with resolution and frame rate, so this is only the stated example. It also lists a 50-credit trial, and says files are kept for 30 days.
| Plan credits | 720p, 25 fps minutes (credits / 14) | Same minutes on Sume at $0.10 |
|---|---|---|
| 2,000 | about 142 | $14.20 |
| 10,000 | about 714 | $71.40 |
| 50,000 | about 3,571 | $357.10 |
Why can't I compare these as dollars per minute?
Because the credit has no listed dollar price on the page. The last column assumes every video is exactly one minute, since Sume rounds each output up to a whole minute. Ask Creatomate for the plan price, divide it by the minutes, and compare that against $0.10 yourself.
What changes the Sume price of a render?
Only the output length: Timeline bills ceil(audio.duration_seconds / 60) minutes. Width and height are even integers from 256 to 2160, and output.fps takes 24, 25, 30 or 60. The docs list one rate, so a 1080x1920 render and a 1280x720 render of the same length are billed the same minutes. A 5.5% agent fee applies by default.
How do I check a Sume render price before paying?
Call POST /v1/timeline-1.0/plan with the same body. It returns billable_minutes and estimated_cost_usd_micros and does not create a job. Timeline sources must already be Sume-hosted media in your workspace; import a file first with POST /v1/media-imports.
