Zalando designer minimum 1800x2600: request 1808x2608 on Sume

Zalando designer brands need at least 1800x2600 px in 1:1.44 JPEG. GPT custom sizes need multiples of 16, so ask Sume for 1808x2608, which clears both edges.

Zalando's Premium/Designer guide sets a minimum of 1800 x 2600 pixels, a 1:1.44 ratio, JPG/JPEG and a 20 MB cap (read 2026-10-02). Neither 1800 nor 2600 is a multiple of 16, which the Sume GPT image endpoint requires, so request 1808 x 2608: both edges clear the minimum and the ratio stays close to 1:1.44.

Zalando's numbers

Standard brands have a lower floor. Both figures are from Zalando's Premium/Designer guide and general image guidelines (read 2026-10-02).

The Sume constraint

The Image API docs say GPT custom image_size needs both edges as multiples of 16, a maximum edge of 3840, aspect no wider than 3:1, and 655,360 to 8,294,400 total pixels (Image API).

Rounding 1800 up to the next multiple of 16 gives 1808 (113 x 16). Rounding 2600 up gives 2608 (163 x 16). That is 4,715,264 pixels, inside the range, and 2608 / 1808 is about 1.4425, near 1.44.

The request

Send image_size as 1808x2608, output_format as jpeg, and your packshot as a reference. The docs list jpeg among output formats. Then check the file you receive: dimensions, ratio, and size on disk. Zalando's colour mode is sRGB; Sume's docs do not state the colour profile of outputs, so confirm that in your own pipeline instead of assuming it.

Check the output, not the request

A request for 1808 x 2608 is an instruction, not proof. Read the width and height of every file you download, confirm both are at least 1800 and 2600, and confirm the file is under 20 MB. In a batch, make this a gate before the upload step; an image that misses it goes back for a re-run, not into the feed.

If you need an exact 1:1.44

1808 x 2608 is not exact. If a validator on your side demands precisely 1:1.44, use 2000 x 2880, which is an exact ratio and still above both minimums. Do not upscale a smaller image to reach the minimum: Zalando says blurry files are rejected, and designer pages ask for high resolution at all sizes.
