Yelp video ads: 2 minutes, 500 MB, and you upload the actual file
Yelp video ads allow up to 2 minutes and 500 MB in MP4, WMV, MOV or AVI, and YouTube or streaming links do not work. Render and trim a file with Sume.

Yelp video ads can be up to 2 minutes and 500 MB, in .mp4, .wmv, .mov or .avi. Yelp says .mov is error-prone and not recommended, and .fla and .swf are rejected. YouTube and streaming links do not work, so you must supply the actual file, and you need a package that includes the video feature. Details are from Yelp for Business, read 2026-10-01.

How do I cut a clip under 2 minutes with Sume?
Video trim cuts [start, end) from one clip into a new MP4. duration takes 0.2 to 900 seconds, so ask for 120 or less. precision: "exact" re-encodes with libx264 and yuv420p, and output can conform width, height and frame rate. It is $0.02 per job.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-trim \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: yelp-trim-001" \
-d '{
"video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/long.mp4",
"start": 0,
"duration": 115,
"precision": "exact",
"output": { "width": 1280, "height": 720, "fps": 30 }
}'How do I get the real file out of Sume?
Yelp wants a file, not a link. A finished Sume job returns a video_url on media.sume.com. Download that file, then upload it in Yelp's flow. Pasting the URL is the link route Yelp says does not work.
Which format should I choose?
Yelp calls .mov error-prone, and Sume's trim and Timeline return MP4, which is the safe pick. Probe the result with Video inspect and check size locally against the 500 MB cap.
What does Sume not do?
It does not talk to Yelp or check your plan. The spec page does not give a resolution rule, so Sume's 1280x720 above is only an example.
