X video 5,000 kbps recommendation: Sume trim has no bitrate field
X recommends H264 High Profile at 30 or 60 FPS and 5,000 kbps. Sume trim cannot set bitrate or codec; you can conform fps and size, and audio stays AAC.

X recommends H264 High Profile, 30 or 60 FPS, a minimum video bitrate of 5,000 kbps and AAC LC audio at 128 kbps. Sume trim has no bitrate field and refuses encoder fields such as codec and crf; what you control is fps (24, 25, 30 or 60) and the output width and height.
X numbers are as written on its Media best practices page, read 2026-10-01. Sume facts are from Video trim.
What does X recommend?
The recommendations are marked as recommendations, not requirements. The same page's per-size table lists 2048K video and 128K audio for 1280 by 720, which differs from the 5,000 kbps minimum line, so read both before treating one number as a hard limit.
| Setting | X recommendation |
|---|---|
| Video codec | H264 High Profile |
| Frame rate | 30 FPS or 60 FPS |
| Minimum video bitrate | 5,000 kbps |
| Minimum audio bitrate | 128 kbps |
| Audio codec | AAC LC |
| Aspect ratio | 16:9 (landscape or portrait) or 1:1 |
What can Sume trim control?
The program table offers precision, audio (keep or drop), and output as { width, height, fps }, exact precision only. Width and height run 256 to 2160, and fps takes 24, 25, 30 or 60. Kept audio from an exact trim is remuxed as AAC.
Can I ask for a bitrate anyway?
No. The refusal table says a client that sends vf, filter, ffmpeg, cmd, codec, crf or similar gets ffmpeg_fields_rejected, because the server compiles ffmpeg itself. The docs show no bitrate field at all.
What should I do about the bitrate recommendation?
Conform fps to 30 or 60 and a size X lists, then probe the file for its bitrate and compare with what X recommends. If you need an exact bitrate, encode outside Sume. See trim and conform in one call for the supported options.

YouTube recommends 128 kbps mono, 384 kbps stereo, 512 kbps 5.1 at 48 kHz. Sume audio-detach writes wav or a fixed 128 kbps mp3, so use wav for stereo.
