X post media mix: 4 photos, 1 GIF or 1 video, and 0.5 s video minimum
An X post can carry up to 4 photos, or 1 animated GIF, or 1 video, and video must be at least 0.5 seconds. Pick the right Sume export for each case.

An X post may include up to 4 photos, 1 animated GIF or 1 video, never a mix of the three, and a video must be at least 0.5 seconds long. With Sume, make the video with trim or timeline, and make photo stills with video-frames.
What are the per-type limits?
The media introduction lists these file limits.
| Media | Per post | File limit |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | Up to 4 | 5 MB per image |
| Animated GIF | 1 | 15 MB |
| Video | 1 | Length and size depend on the account |
| Minimum video length | 0.5 seconds |
How do I get four stills from one clip?
video-frames takes 1 to 24 times per call, so one request can return four photos at the source size. Ask for jpeg to keep files small, then check each against the 5 MB cap yourself.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-frames \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: x-stills-001" \
-d '{"video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/talk.mp4", "at": [1, 4, 7, 10], "format": "jpeg"}'What should I watch for?
A trim result of at least 0.2 seconds is legal on Sume but would be too short for X, so keep video cuts above 0.5 seconds.
