Do YouTube Shorts AI tools label automatically? What the page says

YouTube says its own Shorts generative AI tools disclose automatically. Regional limits per tool, and what an API pipeline still has to disclose itself.

Yes. YouTube's AI features page says creators who use YouTube's own generative AI tools in a Short do not need extra steps to disclose altered or synthetic content, because the tool discloses it automatically. The same page limits availability by region: Green Screen Background and Video Clip are not in the EEA, Photo to Video and Make Me Move are not in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, and Audio-to-Short is desktop only in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US. A clip you generate outside YouTube and upload yourself gets none of this, so an API pipeline needs its own disclosure step.

The table

Outside the app

A clip you generate through an API and upload yourself gets no automatic label. YouTube's disclosure rule applies to you. Realistic scenes need a label; fantasy and animation do not. Build the step into your Timeline 1.0 pipeline: record which slots were generated, then answer the upload question from that record.
