What balance do 100 video ads need? Sume reserves at submit

Sume reserves the credits of every accepted job at submit, so a 100-ad batch needs the whole total in the balance. 402 insufficient_credits otherwise.

A batch of 100 video ads needs the balance to cover the jobs you submit, because Sume reserves each job's estimated cost when the job is accepted. When the balance cannot cover a job, the submit fails with 402 insufficient_credits and the details carry required_credits and available_credits, per the generation admission docs. The jobs already accepted keep their reservations.

Sizing the wallet

Reservations are made at submit, not at completion, so a queued job still holds its credits. Size the balance for every job you plan to have queued or processing at once, not for the one that is running. For 100 ads of 8 seconds:

Balance needed for 100 x 8-second ads, read 2026-10-13
ModelTierPer adNeeded for 100 ads
wan-3.0720p$1.00$100.00
seedance-2.5720p$4.63$463.00
seedance-2.51080p$11.38$1,138.00
gemini-omni-flash-1.11080p$1.50$150.00
kling-3 (audio)1080p$1.68$168.00

What to do on a 402

A 402 is a planning failure, not an outage: top up (a team workspace can buy credits), or submit fewer or cheaper jobs. Do not retry it blind. Per the docs, retry after a 429 with the same Idempotency-Key; with a 402, change the balance first.

Because the estimate for a hint-based job (an edit with a duration hint) is a hint, not a probe, leave headroom on those.
