Vidu Q4 Preview $0.014 is a launch rate: how to budget on it

Vidu says Q4 Preview's $0.014 per second is launch pricing and may vary by plan and region. Budget with a margin; Sume prices at list x 1.25.

Treat Vidu Q4 Preview's $0.014 per second as a launch rate, not a planning rate. Vidu's own announcement, read 2026-10-13, calls it launch promotional pricing and says final pricing, supported resolutions and usage terms may vary by plan and region. Sume has no Vidu Q4 row, so a Sume budget for the same shot uses a catalog model at a price that is documented as list x 1.25.

What is promo and what is list

The source gives one number and one condition. The number is "starting at $0.014/sec". The condition is that promotional pricing applies during the preview period. Neither the end date nor the price for 1080p or 4K is in the page I read, so I do not state them here.

Sume's own docs show how it handles a vendor promotion: for MiniMax H3 Max the repo notes that fal listed a 50%-off launch price that ended 2026-09-01, and Sume locked the ongoing list instead of the promo. The same rule applies to any model you route through Sume: you pay list x 1.25 even if a vendor page shows a launch discount elsewhere.

Planning a 1,000-second batch, read 2026-10-13
ScenarioPer second1,000 seconds
Vidu Q4 Preview, starting price (vendor)$0.014$14.00
Same, if the price doubles (illustration only)$0.028$28.00
Sume wan-3.0 480p$0.0625$62.50
Sume seedance-2-mini 480p$0.0879$87.88

A rule for your own budget

Take the vendor from-rate, double it for planning, and re-check the page before the batch runs. On Sume, read pricing_skus from GET /v1/videos/models right before you submit: it is the billable rate, already multiplied by 1.25 (video docs).
