Vidu off-peak mode: 48 hours for half price, and Sume's cheap tiers

Vidu's off-peak mode generates within 48 hours at half price. Sume has no Vidu model and no off-peak flag; the cheap path is a low-resolution tier.

Sume has no off-peak mode, and its catalog has no Vidu model. The video docs list no scheduling or discount field, so every Sume job starts when you submit it and is priced at list x 1.25. If you want a cheaper clip, pick a lower tier or resolution: a 5-second 480p clip reserves $0.44 on seedance-2-mini and $0.32 on wan-3.0.

Vidu's pricing page, read 2026-10-01, says the off-peak price is half the normal generation price, and its text-to-video reference says tasks submitted in off-peak mode "will be generated within 48 hours", with incomplete tasks automatically cancelled and points refunded.

What do you trade for the half price?

Time. Vidu's window is up to two days, so off-peak fits batch work that nobody is waiting on. Sume's jobs are asynchronous too, but they are not deferred: you poll GET /v1/videos/{id} or pass an HTTPS callback_url, and a typical job takes 30 seconds to several minutes per the video docs.

Can I schedule a Sume job for later?

Not with a documented field. The video docs list no scheduling option, so a job starts when you submit it. Hold the request in your own queue if you want it to run later.

How do I keep a big batch cheap on Sume?

Draft at 480p, send each request with its own Idempotency-Key so a retry does not create a second job, and submit the winners again at the final resolution. A failed job releases its reservation, so a failed draft does not cost you.

5-second 16:9 clip at 480p, reserved amount, read 2026-10-01.
