Veo in Google Ads: 3 images, 10 seconds, and the Sume equivalent

Veo in Google Ads takes up to three images and returns videos up to 10 s. Here is the same job on Sume's video router, with its limits, for use outside Google.

Veo in Google Ads turns up to three static images into a video of up to 10 seconds, inside Asset Studio, and it only exists in Google's console. If you want the same shape of job anywhere else, the nearest Sume route is POST /v1/video-router/generate with gemini-omni-flash-1.1, which accepts up to 10 reference images and clips of 3 to 10 seconds. You get a file back, so it can go to TikTok, Meta or a store page as well as Google.

What does Google say Veo in Google Ads does?

How do I run the three-image version on Sume?

Send the product shots as reference_image_urls and address them in the prompt as <IMAGE_REF_0>, <IMAGE_REF_1> and so on, in list order. The job is asynchronous, so submit with mode: async and fetch the result from the job. Billing is provider list times 1.25 per output second by resolution.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-router/generate \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: veo-style-001" \
  -d '{
    "model": "gemini-omni-flash-1.1",
    "prompt": "Vertical ad: <IMAGE_REF_0> on a gift table, then <IMAGE_REF_1> close up, then <IMAGE_REF_2> in a hand",
    "reference_image_urls": [
      "https://example.com/front.jpg",
      "https://example.com/detail.jpg",
      "https://example.com/hand.jpg"
    ],
    "resolution": "720p",
    "duration": 8,
    "aspect_ratio": "9:16",
    "mode": "async"
  }'

What are the limits?

  • This is not the Veo model. Google's page names Veo; the Sume route here is a different model, so do not expect matching output.
  • Google's page does not state a price for generation inside Asset Studio, so no cost comparison is made.
  • Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 is 3 to 10 s only. For longer cuts use seedance-2.5 (4 to 30 s), or cut several clips together with the timeline render.
  • Read capabilities from GET /v1/video-router/models instead of assuming one envelope for every model.
  • Sume does not upload into Google Ads. Check Google's own asset rules before you upload; its Performance Max help page lists video orientations and lengths.

How do I check the result before I upload?

The job result gives you a video URL on media.sume.com. Watch the first two seconds with sound, since native audio is always on for this model and generate_audio: false is rejected. If a logo or label drifted, rerun with the same references and a tighter prompt; a retry with a new Idempotency-Key is a new paid job, while the same key returns the original.

Pick the resolution by where the clip will run. 720p is the cheaper default for review; the model also offers 360p, 1080p and 4K, and billing scales with the resolution you choose.

When should I stay inside Google?

If the only place the clip will run is a Google campaign, Asset Studio keeps the asset and the campaign in one tool. Use the API route when the same product images must feed several channels, or when you want the run to be repeatable from a script with an Idempotency-Key.
