Veo 3.1 Lite is Google's low-price tier: $0.05 a second at 720p and $0.08 at 1080p, with no 4K output (Google pricing, read 2026-10-09). It is also left out of video extension, and its preview id ends on October 22, 2026. On Sume the lowest Omni rate is 360p at $0.0375 a second.

What does Lite not do?

Sources are the Veo 3.1 page and the deprecations page, both read 2026-10-09.

  • Resolutions: 720p (default) and 1080p only.
  • Extension: the Veo page says extension is limited to 720p and works on Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast, not Lite.
  • Lifetime: veo-3.1-lite-generate-preview is listed for shutdown on October 22, 2026, with gemini-omni-1.1-flash as the replacement.

What is the nearest option on Sume?

Sume does not list a Veo id (catalog read 2026-10-09). Its closest low-cost row is gemini-omni-flash-1.1, which Google names as the Veo successor. Sume bills the provider list times 1.25, per second:

Omni on Sume per second, billed at provider list x 1.25
ResolutionPer second6-second clip
360p$0.0375$0.225
720p$0.125$0.75
1080p$0.1875$1.125
4K$0.375$2.25

How do the lowest rates compare?

A 6-second Lite clip at 720p is $0.30 on Google's list. The same length at 360p on Sume is $0.225, and at 720p it is $0.75. The 360p rows suit drafts you plan to re-render; the 4K row exists on Sume where Lite has none. Omni always includes audio on Sume, and the API rejects generate_audio: false.

How do you do extension?

Sume documents no extension call. To continue a shot, send the last frame of the first clip as image_url on the next job and join the two on a timeline. Image-to-video is described in the Video Router docs. This is a workaround, not an extension feature.
