VEED Subtitles styles on Sume: 9 dynamic bill twice
Sume's veed-subtitles row has 30 VEED caption styles: 9 dynamic ones bill twice, 21 basic ones bill once, and 6 take a second highlight color.

The veed-subtitles row on the Sume Video Router offers 30 VEED caption styles. Nine are dynamic and bill twice the basic rate; the other 21 are basic and bill once. Six styles also accept a second text color, captions.highlight_color. The default style is simple, a basic one, so a first apply bills the lower rate.
The row burns styled subtitles into a clip you supply. It was added on 2026-10-13, and Studio's Caption tab sits on top of it.
The 30 styles by billing class
The class decides the multiplier, so pick it before you pick a look.
Style names are VEED's, and the example shown on each style card in Studio's Caption tab is VEED's own. Preview a style there before you spend a dynamic-rate job on it, and set position, shadow and colors in the same place, before or after a clip is in. A basic style with a strong shadow is often the safer choice over busy footage than a dynamic one.
| Class | Count | Styles | Billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dynamic, with highlight color | 6 | glide2, fusion, glide, handwritten, backdrop, backdrop2 | 2x |
| Dynamic, one color | 3 | glass, whisper, terminal | 2x |
| Basic | 21 | simple, plain, beans, corpo, boo, shadeplay, casper, capri, lowkey, vinta, diego, ali, slay, kitty, hustle, karl, sprout, flex, mint, rizz, vegas | 1x |
The other settings
Every unsent setting keeps the style's own look. You can override these on the request:
captions.position:top,centerorbottom.captions.shadow:none,min,midormax, which helps over bright or busy pictures.captions.color: a hex value,#rgbor#rrggbb.captions.highlight_color: the same hex format, honored on the six highlight styles.
Two more multipliers
Style is one of three things that set the price. The clip's length is billed for at least 60 seconds, and resolution of 4K (anything above 1080p) bills twice again. Unsent, resolution defaults to 4K, so a 1080p clip should say 1080p. A dynamic style on a 4K source is therefore four times the basic 1080p rate for the same minute. Sume shows credits, not dollars.
If you leave out captions.srt, VEED transcribes the clip. If you send it, VEED skips its own transcription and uses your lines, which is how Studio's Caption tab lets a person edit them first.
A request
Pick a basic style and say 1080p for the cheapest class:
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-router/generate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: caption-001" \
-d '{
"model": "veed-subtitles",
"video_url": "https://example.com/clip.mp4",
"duration": 45,
"resolution": "1080p",
"captions": {"style": "simple", "position": "bottom"},
"mode": "async"
}'Where this fits
For a stable caption design you control line by line, Sume's other caption endpoint is described in captions from a video's own speech. For the minimum and 4K rules in a worked bill, see VEED Subtitles API prices vs a Sume caption job. Router details are on the Video Router page.
