What a quiet changelog does not prove

The changelog is a list of announced changes, not a diff of the reference pages. Values that matter to a posting integration can sit on reference pages without an entry, so read them directly.

  • The Get Started page shows max_video_post_duration_sec as 300 in its example, but your account's creator info response is the value to use. See the max duration post.
  • The Direct Post page says content from unaudited clients is restricted to private viewing, and each access token allows 6 requests per minute.
  • is_aigc is listed as an optional boolean on Direct Post. Set it for AI video; see the post_info fields post.

Why this matters for AI video

AI clips are often generated at settings that differ from what a platform accepts, so a silent change in a limit shows up as a failed upload rather than a visible notice. Keeping your assumptions in one place, such as maximum duration, accepted formats and frame rate, lets you update a single file when TikTok changes a page. The existing posts on video specs list the current numbers.

A routine for your integration

Re-read the reference page for every field you send each quarter, and call the creator info endpoint before each post so limits come from TikTok, not from your cache. Keep a test post in a sandbox or private account.

On the Sume side, trim to the duration TikTok reports with video trim, which cuts a range into a new MP4. Sume does not call TikTok's Content Posting API for you.
