Suno's EQ and compressor tips vs Sume Timeline mix controls
Suno published guides on EQ and compression for AI tracks. Sume Timeline has gain and ducking but no EQ or compressor. What you can and cannot do.

Sume Timeline cannot apply EQ or a compressor. It has gain, looping, fades and ducking. Suno's guides on EQ (Sep 29) and compression (Sep 22), read 2026-10-01, describe tools you would need an audio editor for. Here is the split.
What does Suno recommend?
Suno's EQ guide says to cut before you boost (it gives -6 dB around 400 Hz as an example), use a high-pass around 80 Hz, and put EQ first in the chain. Its compression guide covers threshold, ratio, attack and release, gives a 4:1 ratio example, and covers sidechaining. It says the compressor is free with Premier.
What does Sume Timeline have?
POST /v1/timeline-1.0/render takes audio.gain_db from -60 to 12, and a soundtrack with gain_db, loop, fade_out_seconds up to 10 and duck_db from 0 to 20. The docs state there is no EQ or compressor. Output is MP4, $0.10 per output minute.
How do I use ducking?
Set duck_db on the soundtrack so music drops under the voice. It is the closest thing to sidechaining Timeline offers, and it is a fixed drop, not a ratio with attack and release.

}What if I need real EQ?
Do it before import in your own tool, then import the mixed file to media.sume.com. Sume will not change the tone of the audio you give it.
Which mix control maps to which tool?
