SF3D makes a GLB in 0.5 s: what it skips

Stability's SF3D is listed at $0.07 on fal.ai, GLB only, about 0.5 seconds. Sume does not carry 3D, so here is what to use for product visuals instead.

Stability AI's SF3D makes a single GLB mesh very quickly, and a 3D AI Studio table lists it at 10 credits per generation via the Stability API (also $0.07 per generation on fal.ai), GLB only, in about 0.5 seconds. Sume does not carry a 3D model, so it is not a substitute for a mesh.

What a fast mesh skips

Speed is the headline. What the listing does not tell you is how the mesh looks from every side, what the texture resolution is, or whether the topology suits your engine. Review the output before you build a pipeline around it; this post cannot judge that from a price table.

If the goal is product visuals

Many teams want a 3D model only to get turntable-style visuals. Sume gives you that result without a mesh: edit one product photo into other angles with POST /v1/images and input_references, then animate a still into a short clip with POST /v1/videos.

  • Stills: Ideogram 4.5 edits the first reference and uses up to four more
  • Clips: frame_images with frame_type: first_frame for image-to-video
  • Check GET /v1/images/models and GET /v1/videos/models for each model's limits

When you do need a mesh

If you need a GLB for a game engine or AR viewer, use a 3D API. Sume cannot export a model, and a generated video orbit is not a mesh.
