Length rules for payouts differ by platform. YouTube's own page gives two Partner Program routes, one of which counts Shorts views. For TikTok's Creator Rewards, the one-minute minimum is repeated by many guides but we could not read TikTok's own help page, so treat it as third-party. Everything here was read on 2026-10-06.

What are the thresholds?

Only the YouTube rows below come from the platform's own page. The Instagram row describes length limits, not payouts, and comes from a third-party size guide.

Does Shorts feed watch time count toward the 4,000 hours?

According to YouTube's eligibility page, Shorts Feed watch hours do not count toward the 4,000-hour route. The Shorts route counts qualified Shorts views instead. Pick the route that matches the format you actually publish.

How do I render to a length target in Sume?

Declare the length once. Timeline 1.0 bills ceil output minutes at $0.10, so a 61-second render is two billable minutes while a 59-second render is one. If a payout rule needs more than 60 seconds, plan first: the unbilled plan call returns billable_minutes and estimated_cost_usd_micros for the document you would send.

What should I not promise?

Do not promise earnings from a length alone. Eligibility rules change, and the thresholds above are conditions, not guarantees. Re-read the platform page before you build a schedule on it.
