Four Seedance variants are priced in Sume's pricing code, and the cheapest costs about a third of the dearest at 480p. They are priced by video tokens, so cost rises with both duration and resolution. The figures below are billed amounts (provider list x 1.25) from the repo's Seedance estimator for a 5-second 16:9 text-to-video clip.

Five seconds, three resolutions

Fast and Mini are measured at 480p only here; They were not priced at higher resolutions.

Per second, for planning

Divide by five. At 480p Seedance 2.5 is about $0.269 a second, Seedance 2 is $0.176, Fast is $0.141 and Mini is $0.088. At 720p, 2.5 is $0.578 and 2 is $0.378. At 1080p, 2.5 is $1.42 and 2 is $0.85.

Choosing a rung

  • Exploring ideas: Mini or Fast at 480p. A 10-clip test costs $4.39 on Mini.
  • Finals that need the newest model: 2.5, which accepts 4 to 30 seconds per clip at 480p, 720p or 1080p.
  • Everything else: Seedance 2 is the middle price and also offers 1080p.

Resolution is the steepest step

Within one variant, the jump from 480p to 1080p is bigger than the jump between variants. Seedance 2.5 goes from $1.343 to $7.108 for five seconds, a factor of 5.3. Seedance 2 goes from $0.879 to $4.253, a factor of 4.8. By comparison, the step from Seedance 2 to 2.5 at 720p is only 1.5 times ($1.89 to $2.889).

So the first cost question for a Seedance batch is the resolution you need on delivery, and the second is which variant. Pick the lowest resolution that survives your platform's compression, and move up the ladder only when the output is not good enough.
