Seedance 2 on Sume costs $0.378 a second at 16:9 720p and about $0.8505 at 1080p, while Google lists Veo 3.1 Standard at $0.40 a second at both 720p and 1080p (read 2026-10-06). That makes the two roughly level at 720p and Veo less than half the price at 1080p. Price is one axis; the two models make different pictures, and only a test clip will say which you prefer.

The rates

Seedance is token-priced: tokens are width times height times 24 times seconds divided by 1,024. Sume bills the provider list price times 1.25 and rounds each job up to the cent. Veo's rate is from Google's pricing page; Google's 4K rate is $0.60 a second and is not part of this comparison.

Reading the gap

At 720p, Sume is within a few cents of Google per clip, with the cent round-up accounting for part of it. At 1080p the Seedance price climbs with pixel count while Veo's stays flat, so the gap opens to about $4.51 on a 10-second clip.

If most of your delivery is 720p vertical video, the price argument for either is weak and you should choose on look. If you deliver at 1080p in volume, Veo direct is cheaper per clip, and the case for Sume rests on the unified balance, queueing and refund behavior rather than the rate.

Limits that differ

Seedance 2 on Sume takes 4 to 15 seconds per job. Veo's limits are on Google's page, which this post does not restate. For other Google rates and a per-minute view see AI video cost per minute: Veo 3.1 against the Sume catalog and the 720p to 1080p step.

This is only a price comparison. It does not compare quality, prompt following, audio, or availability, and Google's page states what Veo 3.1 Standard supports. The Sume figures are from the pricing code and API rates page, read 2026-10-06, and the Google figures are from Google's page on the same date. If you plan a large run, price a 10-clip pilot on each before committing.
