Seedance 2.5 token pricing on fal: formula and a 30-second 720p clip

fal bills Seedance 2.5 as height x width x seconds x 24 / 1024 tokens at $0.0214 per 1,000. Worked examples, a rounding gap on the page, and what Sume lists.

fal bills Seedance 2.5 by tokens: output height times output width times duration in seconds times 24, divided by 1,024, at $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens. At 1280x720 that is 21,600 tokens per second, so about $0.462 per second and $13.87 for a 30-second clip. fal's page rounds this to about $0.473 per second at 720p, a little above the formula, so compute from the formula and the stated $0.0214 rate and treat the per-second estimate as approximate.

Read on 2026-10-01 from fal's Seedance 2.5 text-to-video page. Sume's side comes from the Video Generation docs.

How does the formula work out?

Width times height times seconds gives pixel-seconds; multiplying by 24 treats it as 24 frames per second; dividing by 1,024 gives tokens. Then price is tokens divided by 1,000 times $0.0214. Wider aspect ratios have more pixels at the same nominal height, so they cost more.

Computed from the formula on fal's page, read 2026-10-01. The page's own examples are 5 s 720p about $2.31, 30 s 720p about $13.87, and 10 s 480p about $2.15.
ClipPixelsTokensPrice at $0.0214 per 1,000
5 s, 1280x720921,600108,000$2.31
30 s, 1280x720921,600648,000$13.87
10 s, 864x496428,544100,440$2.15

Where do the page's examples and estimates differ?

The 5-second and 30-second 720p examples match the formula, and so does the 10-second 480p example once you use the page's own dimensions of 864x496 (100,440 tokens, about $2.15). The page's per-second estimates ($0.473 at 720p, $0.221 at 480p) are described as approximations for common 16:9 output and differ slightly from the formula. For budgeting, trust the dollars-per-token rate and the dimensions of your actual output.

What does Sume list?

Sume's docs list seedance-2.5 at 4 to 30 seconds and 480p, 720p and 1080p, where fal's page lists only 480p and 720p. The docs say Sume bills provider list times 1.25 and reserves it on submit. Multiplying the 720p figures gives about $17.34 reserved for a 30-second clip if Sume used the same list. That is arithmetic, not a quote: the live rate is in pricing_skus from GET /v1/videos/models.

Limits: I did not check whether Sume's list for this model is the same token rate as fal's, so use the catalog value for anything you commit to.
